The gourmet floor at KaDeWe on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin has long been established as a destination for high-quality food and beverages. Among the many stands and restaurants, the “Hummer & Ochse” restaurant stands out with its focus on surf & turf as well as a regional interpretation of classic brasserie dishes featuring fish and meat.

The design concept carefully balances the technical requirements of a full kitchen within a department store setting with a strong emphasis on brand recognition and clear visual distinction from neighboring stands. This approach positions Hummer & Ochse as an independent brand and highlights the hospitality of the concept.

The design draws inspiration from regional architectural elements. Abstract forms of arches and a carefully chosen color palette reference characteristic features of Brandenburg farmsteads and the architecture of the Baltic Sea coast.

The selection of materials and colors is complemented by warm textures and fabrics, creating an inviting and upscale atmosphere.
