In 2023, the Aroundtown Group and Peak Hospitality Group initiated a strategic repositioning of Brasserie Reinhardts on Kurfürstendamm. Working Islands was appointed as the design partner responsible for concept development and interior design.
Within the scope of a comprehensive development project encompassing over 1,300 m² of gastronomy space—including Brasserie Scirocco and the Upstairs Bar—an efficient design approach was pursued. Rather than a full redesign, the decision was made to implement a targeted “soft renovation”: a flexible model that optimally balances budget and timeline considerations while preserving the value of the existing structure.
Under the creative direction of Nadav Kundel, Chef de Cuisine of Scirocco and Creative Director, a clear conceptual vision emerged: a “Modern Adaptation of Classic Brasserie” combined with a contemporary casual dining approach. This guiding principle influenced all design decisions—from the selection of modular, functional furnishings and lighting schemes to the curated refinement of select surfaces.
The new interior successfully bridges the existing architecture with a modern aesthetic. By thoughtfully evolving the existing space, a brand-strong and economically viable solution was realized—positioned to meet both design and operational demands well into the future.
